In 2008, Big Three Automotive OEM came to us with a few goals, including:
- A desire to reduce their total cost of ownership while maintaining high service standards.
- The ability to provide a safe and healthy work environment that would foster productivity and profitability.
- A need to drive operational efficiencies through continuous improvement score cards and business plan profitability goals.
- The ability to maintain a 90% customer satisfaction level.
The plant is a 6.OM sq ft facility with an end-to-end manufacturing and assembly operation under one roof, so you can imagine that achieving these goals was a challenge. However, Caravan rose to that challenge and provided an expert solution for the client which included:
- Self-performed 70% of the services within the plant and offices thus reducing number of suppliers and aligning our team with the client’s operational goals.
- Continuous improvement and business plan development strategies that yielded:
- Chiller Plant Reliability that improved to 99.5%
- Dock & Doors Reliability that improved to 99.5%
- Deployment of Maximo tablets with barcodes to maintenance technicians to achieve 100% PM work order completion month-over-month.
- Development of Body Shop & Paint Cleaning standards.
- Deployment of Covid-19 disinfection services team.
- Development and deployment of manufacturing support services to reduce cost and reliability for Assembly Frame Cleaning and Conveyor Services.
Overall, the comprehensive solution Caravan implemented resulted in an average of 91% customer satisfaction and a Net Promoter Score of 38, month-over-month.
